The award-winning Indian Bollywood actress, Madhuri Dixit was born on May 15, 1967 to Shankar and Snehlata Dixit, of a Marathi Chitpavan Brahmin family. All set with pursuing Micro Biology as her career, Madhuri graduated from the Parle College, less did she know about her dominating the Film Industry, and as a hobby got trained as a Kathak dancer, in the Indian classical tradition.
Destined to be a part of the glamorous world, Madhuri only debuted with Abodh in 1984 with later just doing a few minor and supporting roles. But all this bought her the role of the leading lady in Tezaab (1988), which shot her to stardom, for which she received her first Filmfare nomination.
After that there was a no looking back, Madhuri ruled the industry with her magnificent performances in Ram Lakhan, Parinda, Tridev and Kishen Kanhaiya. She was beyond doubt appreciated for her acting but her dance sequences accompanying famous Bollywood songs such as Ek Do Teen (Tezaab), Bada Dukh Deeya (Ram Lakhan), Dhak Dhak (Beta), Chane Ke Khet Mein (Anjaam), Choli Ke Peechhe (Khalnayak), Akhiyan Milaun (Raja), Piya Ghar Aya (Yaarana), Key Sera (Pukar), Maar Daala (Devdas), among others, have received abundant critical acclaim.
Her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun!, Dil To Pagal Hai are counted as one of her best ones.
